are closed from 1:00-4:00 on Fridays for staff
meeting.
We
offer a variety of programs, resources and services.
All
programs are free, refreshments are included, and childcare is available.
Please
register to avoid disappointment and to ensure that childcare is
available.

Fairlanes
Bowling -
Halifax Shopping Centre Fridays from 3:00-5:00pm. Please call the Centre for
more info. You must have your own transportation. Children must be accompanied by an
adult! Please come to the Centre to pick
up your free pass.
Family
Swim
- Free family swim is offered for
Bayers Westwood residents and Centre participants at Needham Pool on Saturdays from 2:00 –
3:30 pm and Women swim Tuesdays 7:00-8:00. Please come to the centre to pick up your
free swimming pass.
Women’s
World- Women’s
Support group for all women. We talk about our families, friends, community and
earn about resources. We learn to feel good about ourselves and what we
do.

Birth
to 6yrs Creative Play-
We have moved! Join us for lots of great activities for you and your children
(ages birth to 6). Feel free to park your strollers in the centre! Registration

Baby
Club- Come
join other parents that have children birth to 1 year. Pregnant moms are welcome too! Registration Required!
Prenatal-Free
prenatal classes are available Tuesday nights for women and their support
person. Learn all about your baby
and what to expect.

Hilda’s
Trading Post-
Every Tuesday afternoon Wednesday morning and Friday morning, we will be trading
non- perishable food, household and personal items. Please no dented cans,
expired food or beans. Everyone

Native
Plant Project-
Learn about gardening with plants native to Nova Scotia. Rebecca from the Ecology Action Centre
will be coming to teach us how to care for our native plants successfully. Registration

Healthy
Living-
Are you interested in nutrition and healthy living? Come join us as we strive to

Zumba
–
As a partnership with the YMCA, this is a 60 minute basic Zumba dance/exercise
class for beginners. Please wear

in the centre to get out of the cold, have a snack and chat with other community

Role of Women In Ancient African Civilization-
This presentation aims to shed light on the status and power of African women
during the pre-colonial period.
Presentation will provide examples of African women’s vital roles as
spiritual figures, queens and economic developers in their communities. Open to all, Registration

and Garden Discussion Group- come
for a group chat with Libby Dean from the Ecology Action Centre. She's
interested talking with people who have taken part in the classes and workshops
that Ecology Action Centre has helped with such as cooking, pie making, setting
up a senior's garden and a children's garden, etc. Come share your
